Wakatobi National Marine Park is located in the Indonesian province of South East Sulawesi. The name Wakatobi is derived from the first two letters of each of the four largest islands in the park, Wangi-Wangi, Kaledupa, Tomia and Binongko. Wakatobi is the third largest marine reserve in Indonesia, is located in the heart of the coral triangle, and is home to over 900 species of fish, making it one of the most diverse marine areas in the world. This photo was taken with a Canon Powershot G10 digital camera in February, 2013 (IMG_5358).
I specialize in underwater photography, and use my photos as inspiration for my marine life paintings. I grew up on the Texas coast, and love the ocean and beach. After receiving a bachelors degree in fine art from Lamar University, I moved to Austin, Texas, where I enjoyed a long career in graphic design, drafting, cartography and geographic information systems. I am retired now and my husband, Kent and I live in Delray Beach Florida where I continue to scuba dive and photograph marine life.
